How it all began
It all began in a garage in 2003 where Brad and Gazz homebrewed on weekends. They got pretty good at it and being beergeeks at heart they always took things that one step further.

Brewing in a garage
In 2010 the idea for Tiny Rebel was born, with a few thousand pounds investment into some decent 50 litre homebrewing equipment and a pallet load of ingredients to get us going. Let the research commence.

Our bear
During the R&D phase of perfecting our recipes our focus was also on our brand. We wanted Tiny Rebel to represent us and things that we were intrested in growing up – Urban culture, 90’s music, being a bit rebellious and not taking ourselves too seriously. So we created a ruffed up bear armed with a spray can who was ready to take on the world.

The launch
After 2 years of grafting, test brewing on week nights and on weekends (clocking up over 150+ brews) we officially launched in February 2012 with two solid beers FUBAR and Urban IPA. Little did we know that both beers would go on to win awards.

Cwtch & Dirty Stop Out
Shortly after the launch we released Cwtch and Dirty Stop Out and added them to our core range.

Going global
In April 2013 we decided to take Tiny Rebel global and began exporting to Denmark and Australia.

After years of being inspired by American IPAs it was time to produce our own. Hadouken, our 7,4% Amplified IPA was born and has been at the heart of our beer line up ever since. It’s a dedication to the classic special move from one of our favorite video games back in the 90’s.

2013 Beer awards
In June 2013 we turned our beer in to the Great Welsh Beer Festival for the first time. The result:
Dirty Stop Out (Gold)
FUBAR (Silver)
Urban IPA (Bronze)
A clean sweep….

2013 Business awards
Only a year after launching Brad and Gazz picked up the Business Young Achiever Award for Wales.

Our first bar – Tiny Rebel Cardiff
Towards the end of 2013 we opened Cardiff’s first-ever , fully devoted craft beer bar. Formerly the Urban Tap House, it’s now fully under the Tiny Rebel banner. It’s a beer drinkers haven, go check it out!

2014 Business awards
In 2014 Tiny Rebel was crowned overall Winner in the Made in Wales Food and Drink competition.

2014 Beer awards
In our second year of entering the Champion Beer of Wales competition FUBAR was crowned Champion.

January 2015 – Brewery expansion
In 2012 we produced 82.000 litres. But after two mental years of awards, growth and 20+ new beers we ended 2014 on a high by going way beyond our target and producing just under 500.000 litres that year.

Our next phase of expension was quickly underway that would give us the capability to produce 850.000 litres annually.

Bo’Ho unfiltered lager
Somebody say Bo’H!! Yes Bo’Ho is our first-ever lager. Not just any lager, it’s an unfiltered Bohemian lager that chills in our conditioning tank for 5 weeks.

Like all authentic-style beers we managed to source a traditional Bohemian lager strain to produce a beer with a distinctive malt back bone, fruity aroma and clean crisp finish.
Traditional pilsner malt made up the majority of the malt bill with the Bohemian Saaz hops flavoring this amber beauty.

Wo said lagers couldn’t be awesome?

2015 Champion beer of Britain
2015 was already a big year for us but this topped it off.
In August 2015 we headed down to London for the Great British Beer Festival where our beloved Cwtch was being judged in the Best Bitter category.
Not only did it win gold in it’s category, Cwtch then went on to win Overall Supreme Champion Beer of Britain, an achievement we are extremely proud of.

Tiny Rebel bar nr.2, Newport
November 2015 saw us open our second Tiny Rebel bar in the heart of our home town of Newport.

2016 Business awards
We kicked 2016 by picking up some very prestigious industry awards by being declared Best Brewery in the UK and Best Bar of the UK by The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA).

New beers 2016
While bantering over a few beers at our Christmas party we decided to set ourselves a target of brewing and releasing 30 new beers in 2016…

Cwtch homebrew kit
In May 2016 we returned to our roots in the home-brew community with the release of our first home-brew kit, for the Champion Beer of Britain 2015, Cwtch.

International beer challenge awards
We had an unbelievable time at the finals of the International Beer Challenge Awards.
We picked up:

Gold medal for Cali
Bronze medal for Dirty Stop Out

The big move
After completing the installation of our new brewery kit and warehouse over Christmas we made the move over to our shiny new premises in January 2017. The new site will see our annual production capacity shoot from 850.000 to 5.000.000 litres. The front of house includes our new offices, a brewery shop, bar & kitchen plus a 400 person capacity event space.

Core range levels up for 2017
We’ve upgraded our core range with the addition of favorites Juicy, Beatbox, Stay Puft, Clwb Tropicana, Hank and Fugg Life – keeping these beauties available all year round.

2017 canning and bottling
We installed our very own bottling and canning lines, and are now able to package all of our beer in house, whatever container it winds up in – bottle, can, keg or cask.
First out of the blocks in can: Cwtch, Clwb Tropicana and Cali, with a super-lush selection of specials and seasonals waiting in the wings.

Tiny Rebel

Style:Welsh Red Ale
Original Gravity:1.045
Additional Ingredients:
Format:330ml bottle, 330ml can, 30l slimline key keg
Tasting Note:Probably the best word ever. Cwtch (rhymes with butch) can mean either cuddle or cubbyhole. Grab a glass, relax and cwtch up with this untraditional Welsh red ale – a perfect blend of six caramelly malts and three citrussy American hops.

It isn’t your average bitter – the hops do more to this deep amber coloured beer than just provide bite. Any old hop can do that! We’ve selected some of the most aromatic and tangy hops from the other side of the pond to give this red a fresh hit that complements the caramel flavours of the malts that gives this beer its colour. Drinkability and balance makes this beer.

We love a good Cwtch, and we’re not the only ones…

Tiny Rebel

Style:American Pale Ale
Original Gravity:1.054
Hops:Equinox, Simcoe
Format:330ml bottle, 330ml can, 30l slimline key keg
Tasting Note:Bigger than the beef between the Bloods and the Crips. We bring you a beer that’s hopped to sh*t. Reppin’ from the ‘Port to Rodeo Drive. Juicy and fresh, Cali has arrived.

West Side! Our American Pale Ale is inspired by the rough and ready of the West Coast. Things aren’t always sunshine and lolipops.

Forget Beverley Hills. If you want to see the real West Coast, you need to see the streets of Compton and Westmont.

Don’t let the juicy, tropical fruit flavours fool you. This is one big, bad motherlover of an APA. Come and join our gang, homes.

Tiny Rebel

Club Tropicana

Style:Tropical IPA
Original Gravity:1.052
Hops:Citra, Simcoe
Additional Ingredients:Tropical Fruit Juice
Format:330ml can, 30l slimline key keg
Tasting Note:This grown up fruit salad is as colourful as the most hideous Hawaiian shirt you’ve ever seen. It’s super juicy and crammed full of fruity hop flavours that will have your mouth watering. Imagine sitting by the pool in the blazing sun with a cocktail in one hand, but instead of a dainty little glass it’s served by the pint!

Packed full of American hops, amplified by Peach, Passionfruit, Pineapple and Mango flavours!

Dirty Stop Out

Style:Smoked Oat Stout
Original Gravity:1.053
Malt:Oats, Smoked, Roast Barley, Chocolate, Black
Format:330ml bottle
Tasting Note:Dark and smoky, just like a good night out. 9 malts give the beer a rich, complex body, with smoked oats giving it something completely different. To balance all the malty goodness it’s packed to the gunnels with Slovenian hops to provide an equalising bitterness that adds yet another layer of depth.

One to drink until the wee hours, before making your way home to a telling-off from mum.

Tiny Rebel

Style:Pale Ale
Original Gravity:1.042
Format:330ml bottle, 30l slimline key keg
Tasting Note:Our flagship pale ale and a firm favourite. We use classic American hops to give an edge to this traditional British style, providing a bit of flavoursome relief from the boring brown stuff that’s filled Britain’s pint glasses for too long.

If you’re used to fizzy lagers or boring bitters, challenge your perceptions with this gateway beer, and open your eyes and your tastebuds to a world of quaffable, flavourful session ale with FUBAR. Wean yourself off of the nasty stuff with this dry, floral, spicy gateway beer.

Tiny Rebel

Style:Amplified IPA
Original Gravity:1.071
Format:330ml bottle, 30l slimline key keg
Tasting Note:HADOUKEN!

Our tribute to a classic move from a classic video game, Hadouken is our Amplified IPA that packs more than a punch.

A trio of huge US hops charge this beer, ready to knock your socks off with explosive force. T.K.O!

Stay Puft

Style:Marshmallow Porter
Original Gravity:1.053
Malt:Roast Barley, Smoked, Caraffa II
Additional Ingredients:Marshmallow Essence
Format:330ml bottle
Tasting Note:“I’m terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought.”

This marshmallow porter has the classic roasty qualities of a proper dark ale, whilst the marshmallow gives it a smooth sweetness, both combining for a delightful, S’mores-like ale. A sweet treat for the cold winter nights.

Our first brew of this luxurious dark ale sold out in just 36 hours!
